Mission

To preserve and protect open areas by providing various safe, quality outdoor experiences through a well-planned and professionally managed events and educational opportunities system.

Our mission and values come first. RecreationU utilizes planning documents to manage our Events. Event management focuses on principles like efficiency, customer service, public return on investment, revenue enhancement for more significant expansion of land preservation, and effective stewardship of Tennessee’s natural land.

Each event contributes to the mission through individual Management Plans. The event management plans address the following areas:

    • Through ongoing financial analysis of event revenue to guarantee future productivity, Recreation U ensures our volunteers will preserve the lands of Tennessee, making them available for generations to come.
    • Consistent preservation, maintenance, and management of personnel designed to limit the impact of human activity on the environment. Training, compensation, and professional development of all staff.
    • Preservation, development, and expansion of existing and new event resources and facilities
    • We are providing educational programming for all volunteers geared towards conserving the natural environment.
    • Land acquisition to protect the environment.
